Horses in Glass

Diane Schell- Engdahl is a graduate of CCA in Oakland, CA. She creates Equine Eco-Art in the Napa and Sonoma County Wine Country. She combines her love of horses with her love of glass to produce beautiful and spontaneous glass paintings and Equine Eco-Art Sculptures.

After studying painting and hot glass under Marvin Lipofsky, one of the founders of the Art Glass movement,

Diane was honored to be an assistant to world famous master glass blower Lino Tagliapietra at the European Glass Symposium, Leerdam Holland, by invitation of Dale Chihuly and Willem Heesen.

Diane grew up galloping her horses through the orchards in Sebastopol and the Hills above Calistoga, CA and explored every inch of the 5,ooo acre Annadale State Park (Thank You Henry Trione!).As a very young child she rode at the Wild Horse Valley Ranch in Napa.

She is a CHA certified riding instructor and has 2 horses: Archer, “The horse who Paints in Wine” and Rowan, who has adventure series books in English and French.

They inspire her daily.
